Have you seen The Bucket List with Jack Nicholson and Morgan Freeman? If you haven't, you should. I wish I would have known to start a bucket list sooner. But, as Maya Angelou said, "When you know better, you do better".
A bucket list evolves. Most of us have a bucket list but just don't think about it. Come to realize, I've had a bucket list all along. The first thing I remember putting on my list was back when I was about 14 years old. After I got my driver's license and my own car I was going to drive around, pick up hitchhikers and take them where ever they wanted to go. I figured that would be a good way to see the U.S.A. (in my Chevrolet?).
I love my life. It's so much easier to be happy. I like easy things and I like to be happy. When I find it hard to be happy, I know I'm doing something wrong and I figure out a way to to make it easy again. I've discovered having a bucket list really helps. A serious bucket list with real stuff on it, helps me focus - puts me back on track.
My bucket list became real for me this past summer. My sister, my niece, and I road-tripped to Minnesota. For starters, I was going to stay in Grand Marais for 5 weeks. An extended stay in Grand Marais during the summer has been on my bucket list for a long time. On the trip to Minnesota we stayed two nights at the Old Faithful Inn in Yellowstone. That is where my bucket list became official. I've always wished to some day visit all of the National Parks and stay at everyone of the beautiful lodges built by the WPA. One down, how many National Parks are there?
My Blog, Ptown Pam Posts, hasn't said much this past year. More on My Bucket List to come.
